Bolivar County Library System

Cleveland, MS

On November 5, 1958, the Board of Supervisors created the county-wide Bolivar County Library System (BCLS) that included bookmobile service until 1982. Our Historical and Genealogical Collections, located in our headquarters branch in Cleveland, are an important part of our mission to actively promote easily accessible information and materials designed to meet the county’s evolving educational and cultural needs.

The Bolivar County Library System’s Historical Collection includes historic documents and photographs pertaining primarily to Bolivar County and the Mississippi Delta Region. The items in the collections have been donated to the Library System by Bolivar County residents over the years and added to the Library System’s holdings.
